On Tuesday, director Bob Clark and his 22-year-old son Ariel were killed by a drunk driver during a late-night drive in Pacific Palisades, CA. Clark was best known for directing the 1983 film A Christmas Story -- a film that really is impossible not to like (if not love). Clark, who continued to work regularly as a producer and director, was also the man behind the considerably less holy Porky's, a film that pretty much served as the template for every teenage sex comedy made in the last 25 years. (You think there would an American Pie if Porky's hadn't paved the way? A dubious aesthetic distinction, to be sure, but the film grossed $150 million theatrically in 1982.)
